Job Responsibilities

Job Purpose

To handle range of legal department activities under the supervision such as supporting in basic contracts and representing Hikma in a selected number of cases to ensure compliance with local laws and avoid potential legal complications.

Key Accountabilities 1

Policies, Processes and Procedures

Recommends improvements to departmental policy and directs the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of Legal activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost- effective service to customers

Day -to-day operations

Supervises the day-to-day operations of Legal section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures

Key Accountabilities 2

Job Specific Accountabilities

Handles the renewal and maintenance of Hikma's trade licenses and other governmental certificates of the relevant legal entities, in order to ensure that the relevant documents are up to date.

Assists in providing legal advice and awareness on regulatory and legal matters to internal departments within Hikma to safeguard Hikma's rights and legal stance.

Assists in representing Hikma at routine external/ internal legal commencements, litigation/ arbitration to ensure appropriate conveyance of Hikma message or point of view.

Interacts and communicates with external parties, encompassing legal advisors and ministers, to follow up on legal issues and cases and build a strong relationship with them.

Drafts basic legal contracts for both internal and external parties to ensure the inclusion of all relevant information.

Supports in working with business partners to ensure early detection and amicable and smart resolution of potential disputes before reaching to litigation.

Direction of Subordinates

Organises and supervises the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of Legal activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner

Continuous Improvement

Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

Reporting

Prepares departmental reports of Legal timely and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards

Safety, Quality and Environment

Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Law

Law License

Experience

3-5 years of experience in law
